The global leader in architectural audio - high-fidelity sound through invisible, in-wall, in-ceiling, and landscape speakers designed to blend seamlessly into any space.
Get a Personalized Consultation Sonance User GuidesSonance invented architectural audio in 1983 - and they have been refining the art ever since. Their speakers are engineered to deliver powerful, high-fidelity sound while vanishing into the walls, ceilings, and landscape of your home. Whether you want truly invisible speakers hidden behind drywall, subtle round or square grilles that match your interior, or weatherproof rock and in-ground systems that disappear into your garden - Sonance makes it possible.
At Stereo Types, we specify Sonance when design is non-negotiable. Interior designers, architects, and homeowners trust the brand because the audio never fights the aesthetic. As an authorized Sonance dealer, we design, install, and calibrate every system - from a single patio zone to full estate-wide whole-home audio.
Behind Sonance's discreet exteriors sits serious engineering: precisely tuned crossovers, exceptional driver materials, and cabinet designs that perform in real-world rooms - not just on paper. Flush-mounted architectural speakers deliver balanced, room-filling sound whether you're listening to a quiet dinner playlist or cranking up a home cinema mix.
Sonance integrates seamlessly with Control4, Crestron, Savant, and Sonos-based distributed audio systems. Pair Sonance speakers with the amplification platform that fits your project - IP-audio matrix, multi-zone amps, or Sonos Amp - and we program the whole experience as one.
From completely hidden to design-forward, Sonance offers a solution for every room and every design brief.
Flat-panel speakers installed behind drywall, plaster, wood, or wallpaper. After the wall is painted or finished, there is no visible speaker at all - yet the sound fills the room. Ideal for spaces where even a grille would be too visible: art galleries, feature walls, and architectural interiors where nothing should interrupt the surface.
Premium in-wall and in-ceiling speakers with paintable grilles that disappear into the wall color. The Reference series delivers audiophile-grade performance for critical listening and home cinema; Visual Performance covers everything from whole-home audio to high-output entertainment rooms.
Weatherproof satellite speakers on stakes, in-ground subwoofers, and landscape arrays designed to hide in planting beds. Distributed across the property for even coverage - perfect for our outdoor entertainment installations. Tuned to sound great without disturbing neighbors.
In-wall, in-ceiling, and stand-alone subs that anchor the low end without visual clutter. Sonance's architectural subs can be placed where they perform best acoustically - not just where they fit visually - delivering cinematic impact in media rooms and full-spectrum sound in listening spaces.
Fully sealed, moisture-resistant speakers for bathrooms, steam showers, saunas, and spa environments. Deliver music exactly where you want it without worrying about humidity or water exposure.
Architectural-grade audio for restaurants, hotels, retail, and hospitality spaces. Consistent coverage, discreet install, and finishes that complement the interior design - so background music never becomes visual clutter.
Decades of architectural focus means every detail is engineered to disappear - and sound extraordinary.
Sonance collaborates directly with architects and interior designers on product development. The result: speakers that genuinely complement architecture, with flush trim, hidden mounting, and paintable grilles that vanish into the wall finish.
Balanced, natural sound across every product line. Whether it's the completely hidden Invisible Series or a Reference in-wall, the drivers, crossovers, and cabinets are tuned for real rooms - not showroom demos.
One brand across the entire property. Indoor architectural speakers, wet-area speakers, and the landscape line all voice similarly - so music playing at the kitchen island and out by the pool sounds like the same system.
Sonance works with every major amplification and control platform. Sonance's own Sonamp amplifiers integrate natively with Sonos-powered audio, and the speakers work equally well with distributed IP-audio from Crestron, Savant, or Control4.
Great architectural audio starts during design, not after drywall. We coordinate with your architect and interior designer during construction documents to plan speaker locations, bracket positioning, and grille finishes - before walls close. The result: speakers exactly where they need to be acoustically, with no visual compromise.
For renovations, we use Sonance's retrofit-friendly products and careful cut-outs so existing finishes stay intact. Every install is calibrated after the fact - EQ, room correction, and level-matching across zones - so what you hear matches the architectural intent.
Full access to the Sonance lineup - Invisible, Reference, Visual Performance, Landscape, Sonamp - plus factory warranty and expert specification for luxury residential and hospitality projects.
We plan speaker positions for even coverage and appropriate SPL in every zone. No single speaker blasting while another corner is quiet - just balanced sound throughout the space.
Sonance as the transducer; Crestron, Savant, Control4, or Sonos as the brain. We tie everything together so the experience is seamless - one app, one interface, every zone.
Calibration refreshes, zone additions, firmware on amplifiers and controllers. We support every Sonance install for the long term.
Sonance is a core part of many of our audio projects. See the results at the Belle Meade Island outdoor media space, the Jones Home in Northern Virginia, and our Kalea Bay, Naples installation. Every project is different - the audio is always invisible.
View PortfolioSonance Invisible Series speakers install behind the drywall, plaster, or wood surface. The speaker uses a specialized vibrating panel that turns the wall itself into the speaker diaphragm. After taping, mudding, and painting, the wall looks perfectly flat - no grille, no outline, nothing visible. The sound emanates from a broad surface area, which actually creates very natural, non-localized audio. We use them in rooms where design integrity matters most.
For most applications, yes - the Reference Series in particular is engineered for audiophile-grade performance in a flush-mount form factor. For critical listening rooms where absolute uncompromised fidelity is the goal, we may pair Sonance architectural speakers with dedicated hi-fi monitors or towers. But for whole-home audio, media rooms, and most listening environments, Sonance delivers reference-quality sound while completely preserving the architecture.
Properly designed systems won't. Rather than a few large speakers blasting in one direction, a Sonance landscape array uses many small satellites distributed across the property. Each one runs at a moderate level - the system sounds full at the pool or patio without broadcasting to the next property. We aim drivers intentionally, set appropriate crossovers, and calibrate SPL for real-world listening. Learn more on our outdoor entertainment page.
Sonance works with every major amplification and control platform. Their own Sonamp amplifiers are designed around the Sonos ecosystem, and their speakers integrate natively with Control4, Crestron, and Savant. We choose the amp/control combination based on your project - one interface, one app, every zone.
Both. New construction gives us the cleanest install because we plan backing boxes, bracing, and cabling before walls close. But Sonance also makes retrofit-friendly products - with shallow depth requirements, slim trim profiles, and cut-in friendly mounting - so we can add architectural audio to existing homes without major renovation. We assess each space during the consultation and recommend the right approach.
Let us transform your space with precision and innovation.
